Three years advising a Saudi services marketplace.
A Saudi business-solutions and services platform, advised over three years on organic acquisition and technical search performance.
The brief
Marketplace SEO, where supply pages and demand queries have to be matched at scale.
The situation
- Marketplace SEO is a matching problem: supply pages and demand queries have to meet at scale, and neither side is under your control.
- A services platform that ranks only for its own brand name has no acquisition channel at all.
- Service-category architecture determines whether the platform can rank for anything beyond that brand name — and it was not built for it.
- A three-year advisory engagement means the recommendations have to survive team changes and platform rebuilds.
What I did
Rebuilt the service-category architecture
The taxonomy is the product in a marketplace. Categories were structured around how people search for a service, not how the business files it internally.
Solved the supply-demand match
Provider pages and search intent aligned so the platform could rank for the service queries that actually carry commercial value.
Advised for durability, not campaigns
Across three years the recommendations were built to survive team turnover — documented reasoning rather than a task list.
Fixed the technical floor repeatedly
Marketplaces regress. Crawl and indexation health were re-audited across the engagement rather than fixed once and assumed stable.
What moved
A three-year SEO consulting engagement in the Saudi market.
