#1 of 231 restaurants in Ajman. 4.9 stars. That rank is the product.
The UAE's first medieval-themed experience restaurant, in Ajman's heritage district — a Viking longhouse with live cooking shows, sword fighting, medieval ballads and a menu built around the era. Ranked #1 of 231 restaurants in Ajman on TripAdvisor with 4.9 stars.
The brief
An experience restaurant does not sell food. It sells a night out that is worth driving to Ajman for — and worth filming.
The situation
- Ajman is not where Dubai and Sharjah residents instinctively go for dinner — the concept had to be strong enough to justify the drive.
- A themed restaurant lives or dies on whether people film it, and filming has to be designed for, not hoped for.
- The rating was already exceptional. The risk in scaling reach is diluting the audience and dragging the rating down with people who came for the wrong reason.
- Experience dining is a weekend and occasion business, which leaves most of the week to solve for separately.
What I did
Marketed the experience, not the menu
The creative led with the sword fighting, the live fire cooking and the room itself. Food photography sells a meal; a longhouse full of people cheering sells a night out.
Made the rating the headline asset
#1 of 231 with 4.9 stars is third-party proof no ad copy can manufacture. It was pushed to the front of the funnel instead of being buried on a reviews page.
Designed for the camera
Campaigns and on-site moments were built around what a guest would actually film and post, turning every table into distribution the restaurant does not pay for.
Targeted the occasion, not the cuisine
Birthdays, group celebrations and out-of-town visitors — audiences defined by the reason for the visit rather than an interest in medieval food, which nobody searches for.
